Job Description: After years of erosion, the rear boundary of this clients property was literally in mid air, and they wanted a level back yard with a rear fence. Future erosion control was the issue. To achieve this, TLC had to first remove all vegetation from the existing slope, then place in excess of 60 tonnes of fill to bring the rear boundary back to yard level. By placing gabions across the slope, and filling with stone, this enabled us to provide drainage to the bottom drainage pipes, which is especially difficult when dealing with a backward angle this great and a slope this high. This then facilitated a solid work platform to work on, when laying plastic membrane and steel framework. Finally, concrete with an oxide mixed in, so as to blend in more with the surroundings instead of the harsh grey-white of normal concrete, was sprayed into place over the steel. The sides were trowelled into natural gutters, but the majority was left in the sprayed state, again to blend into the surrounds as much as possible. After all this, TLC was able to build the clients rear boundary fence.
